Planisphaerivm Ptolmaicvm, Sive Machina Orbivm Mvndi Ex Hypothesi Ptolemaica In Plano Disposita. The planisphere of Ptolemy, or the mechanism (i.e. the movements) of the heavenly orbits following the hypothesis of Ptolemy laid out in a planar view. In astronomy, the geocentric model (also known as geocentrism, or the Ptolemaic system), is the superseded theory that the Earth is the center of the universe, and that all other objects orbit around it. Ptolemy was an Egyptian polymath, who made studies in astrology, astronomy, geography and mathematics. Illustration by Andreas Cellarius (1596-1665) a Dutch-German cartographer, best known for his Harmonia Macrocosmica of 1660, a major star atlas.

Best dated to frame 1955. The picture has NOT been removed from original framing. Appraised to have A quality to print. Cannot officially date artwork. However you are welcome to google auction history of similar pieces.

At your cost to contact an art appraiser. I will take it for appraisal.
