Randy "The Big Unit" Johnson was a fearsome pitcher who made even the bravest of hitters bail out of the box or take half-hearted cuts at sliders or 97-plus mile per hour heat. Johnson had a penchant for shutting down the Yankees in relief (see his performance in game 7 of the 2001 World Series) after they thought he was taking an "off-day" following a dominant start a few days earlier.
